What’s On My Mind by Lark

Trend Reversal

Woohoo!!! The markets “seem” to be setting up for a major trend reversal with Bitcoin closing back above major resistance. Many altcoins are bouncing back from the dead. While we can never 100% predict what will happen in markets, at this time it does seem like the markets are preparing to move much higher. The last time for example that Bitcoin crossed over the 50 day simple moving average resulted in massive price rallies for the entire market.

BIG NEWS OUT OF RUSSIA!

It seems that the Russian government and the Bank of Russia have agreed to treat cryptocurrencies as currencies within the country. While we must wait for the exact wording in the final bill proposed to be released on the 18th, this could be incredibly big news! Remember Russians hold about 12% of all the world’s crypto while only being about 1.8% of the global population. It is also the 12th biggest economy in the world.

Tesla Proves The Thesis

It was revealed this week that Tesla is currently holding around 2 billion worth of Bitcoin. Up 33% from their initial purchase. PLUS they cashed over 100 million when BTC was pumping. Up until this point they are proving that Bitcoin can be and is a useful asset for corporations to hold. And while the dollar value of the Bitcoin has gone up a lot. Tesla has also avoided suffering the effects of inflation on the 1.5 billion which they used to buy the BTC. Only a matter of time before more big companies get on board the Bitcoin train!

Bitfinex Bitcoin News

In 2016 Bitfinex was the biggest Bitcoin exchange, and one day it was hacked for 120,000 BTC. Slowly but surely the hackers have been trying to liquidate their position via a series of fake accounts and laundering via monero. However it is not easy to sell off a few billion of Bitcoin and in the end they only sold around 24,000 of the BTC. The big news here is that these people just got caught with the US DOJ confiscating the remaining 96,000 BTC. The question now becomes what will happen with this Bitcoin. As Bitfinex stated they will work to get it returned. However it does not appear that it will be returning the BTC directly to those who were affected by the hack but will instead go ahead with plans to use the BTC to buy back LEO tokens. As was stated in the LEO whitepaper. The sale of the BTC is proposed to take up to 18 months so as not to have an adverse effect on the markets. Although with a story so fresh off the press we will need to wait to see what exactly transpires.

Solana Wormhole Exploit Refunded WTF?

Last week I shared the news that one of the biggest bridge hacks ever took place with the main bridge to Solana being hacked for around 300 million worth of wrapped Ethereum. The CRAZY thing about this is the company that made and manages the bridge, Jump Capital, stepped in with the full 120,000 Ethereum to fully cover the loss. Who the heck just has 120,000 ETH laying around? Anyway, nice to see the bail out!

Woman Themed NFTs by Sam

There are a lot of PFP collections out there, of varying degrees of quality, and if you’re looking for something wildlife-related then you can take your pick from apes, llamas, geckos, and pretty much any other animal that comes to mind.

Although it’s by no means always the case, what you may often find is that the PFPs you come across, whether animal, human, alien, or something else, tend to be predominantly male. If you want to pick up a female PFP then you might need to dig a little deeper, so here are some collections which depict female characters.

Flower Girls

These are elegant fine art collectibles that went on sale last December. Designed by illustrator Varvara Alay, it’s a striking collection, and part of the profits goes to children’s charities. They publicly minted at 0.05 ETH, and you can still pick one up for less than 1 ETH on secondary.

However, the collection just received attention from high profile actress America Ferrera, who’s displaying one as a hexagonal PFP, so it could now take off even more and prices might shift.

Crypto Coven

Crypto Trend Reversal and Woman NFTs - - 2024

One for the occultists, this 9,999 piece collection resides in a carefully imagined tech-paranormal world, with its own lore, archetypes, and spooky music. Originally minting to the public at 0.07 ETH, you can now scoop one for a little over 2 ETH.

Crypto Coven describes itself as “an immersive, narrative-driven experiment in world-building”, and has a unique, niche character, so there’s the definite potential for interesting future developments.

Project 2090

Crypto Trend Reversal and Woman NFTs - - 2024

A fresh, cyberpunk-style mint on Cardano, with clean artwork and plenty of Twitter engagement and Discord activity. It’s been hinted that there’ll be some kind of further event in March, mention of something called The Forbidden Virus airdrop, and there are plans to develop 3D avatars.

There are 5,555 NFTs, which minted at 38 ADA and are obtainable now on secondary from around 75 ADA.

Hunnys

A 10,000 item collection, which has just released plans indicating further development is in the pipeline. This one is currently selling from 0.038 ETH on OpenSea, which is lower than the mint price of 0.05 ETH, so if you like the artwork or believe it has longer-term potential, then it’s currently at a discount.

The Two Biggest Projects

Mention must also go to perhaps the two most well-known projects that make a point of being focused on women, not just in their content, but also at an organizational level.

These are World of Women and Boss Beauties, so keep them on your radar if this is an aspect of NFTs and crypto that you’re interested in. In that case, you’ll also want to keep up with Yam Karkai, the artist who co-founded World of Women, and Lisa Mayer, who founded Boss Beauties.

Useful Tools

It’s always good to have some new tools at your disposal when going after NFTs, so here are a couple of good ones to try out.

Sunspot

This is a great application designed to track when NFTs are listed and sold on OpenSea. You can create alerts on whichever collections you’re interested in, including customizing for specific traits and filtering by price, which makes it easy to find out when something has been listed below the floor price.

You can receive notifications in multiple ways, including desktop alerts, and through Twitter and Discord.

CNFT Alerts

The C stands for Cardano, and CNFT Alerts is designed to let you know when things start moving in the Cardano NFT markets. It’s still minimal, but the idea is to notify you when a collection starts pumping, issuing alerts if there’s a sizable change in floor prices or sales volume.

It also keeps track of which collections are being mentioned on social media, and you can set it up to send you notifications by email.
