At its core, Particle Network is a modular chain abstraction layer. This means instead of trying to become the “Ethereum killer” or the “fastest L2,” Particle aims to sit above all of them by making chain-specific differences invisible to the end user.

The architecture is modular, which means projects can plug in only the pieces they need. Some might only want the wallet tools. Others might integrate the full Universal Account framework. And that’s the power here: it’s opt-in composability for developers with end-to-end abstraction for users.

Their tech stack includes:

  • ZK-powered Wallet-as-a-Service (zkWaaS)
  • Intent-centric UX models
  • A dedicated Layer 1 for coordination, authentication, and relaying

The Particle L1: A Modular Coordination Layer

Particle is launching its own blockchain not to compete with Solana or Ethereum. But to coordinate abstraction across chains. This L1 acts as a settlement, authentication, and cross-chain messaging hub. It’s where Universal Accounts live, where zkWaaS events get logged, and where token movement can be orchestrated trustlessly across fragmented ecosystems.

Built using the Cosmos SDK and leveraging CometBFT for consensus, Particle’s L1 is focused on high-throughput, low-latency processing. Think of it as the “cloud layer” of crypto. A chain that helps you forget which chain you’re on.
