Lark’s Portfolio

I have been cutting back on various altcoin positions. Both trying to consolidate and to keep defensive in the face of the broader market mayhem.

Things I sold (and why)

Note: These have been on the chopping block for a few weeks now. I am just getting around to pulling the trigger.

NEAR: When I bought this I was pretty optimistic about its potential. And yes everything is down right now, but we also had the biggest AI hype phase yet in the market in December and January however NEAR barely moved. At least not enough to justify it being a proxy to AI hype. Don’t get me wrong, they are doing some cool stuff, but most of the market seems not to care. They only wanted AI agents that you could throw $500 into and turn into a million. AI agents became a proxy for memecoin betting. I took a loss on this one, but it was not extreme, like 25%. Which in the current market feels “decent”. I don’t plan to buy back.

ROSE: I had initially sold this in Q3 2024, I got back in Q4 because I thought it would benefit from the AI hype. BUT, ROSE failed to capitalize on the moment, good tech, but they struggle to get their vision across. I took a very small loss on this one. Round tripped basically, but it never really did much anyway, so no big deal. Not like I round tripped life changing money, just a trade that didn’t really work out. I don’t plan to buy back.

REDBELLY: This is a coin that had a lot of promise as a good RWA play. Fast chain, big TVL (mostly carbon credits, but still), but they have struggled big time to get noticed. The coin is “cheap” now, so selling it here feels weird, but the daily volume is shocking. Low 6 figures in volume is bad bad bad. Maybe this recovers big time later and I regret it, but what I actually regret is not giga nuking it when it was higher in price. I am selling at a good profit here by the way, because I got a good price in the presale, but my faith has been shaken on this one.  I don’t plan to buy back.

ZEREBRO: The most destroyed coin in all of crypto. AI agent hype is mega dead right now. BUT, not totally, and I think it makes a comeback in some form. So I swapped this for AI16Z in order to concentrate my bets. I don’t plan to buy back.

AUKI: I have not sold, but shit, the daily volume on this thing is pathetic. No demand for it in the market. I like what they are doing tech wise, but I guess old adage comes to mind “Do I want to be right, or do I want to make money?”. Have not sold, but I might.

ZENTRY: Sold about half of my position at break even. Moved that money in GUN.

Things I Bought (and why)

Note: The money from NEAR, RBNT, and ROSE will largely be redeployed into crypto. When I say largely redeployed into crypto, I mean not all of the money is coming back into crypto. I want to do more investment in stuff like (actual) AI companies and robotics.

GUN: I am already a private round investor and node runner for Off The Grid game. BUT, they launched…
