The Big Recap

Volatility is back on the menu! What a wild week this has been for Bitcoin and the crypto market overall. This is unsurprising after such a massive run up. We are now in a distribution period for Bitcoin. This is normal and healthy, and in my opinion not the end of the bull run. This market cycle has a lot of time to run still. As we see Bitcoin consolidate we could see altcoins starting to make some big moves.

Nexus Mutual has introduced a new product allowing for you to take insurance on your centralized exchange accounts against hacks. Defi providing the solutions for defi is actually pretty damn cool! This is showing us that the industry is maturing a lot, this is a good thing.

The US SEC has got a new Chairman, or at least that is the likely rumor. The new Chairman Gary Gensler is actually going to be a Bitcoin friendly Chairmain. More so that Jay Clayton anyway. Gary has argued before that crypto is a legitimate asset class, and we might even be able to expect a Bitcoin ETF to be approved under his leadership. If so this would be massive bull catalyst for crypto.

Grayscale had a ground breaking story this week, they confirmed that both endowments and pension funds have been buying bitcoin via their trust. the entry of in particular pension funds to the market is massive. In the USA alone pension funds control around 34 trillion in wealth. A fraction of this money will pump Bitcoin big time!

Morgan Stanley the sixth largest bank in the USA announced this week that they have bought almost 11% of Micro Strategy. They have been heavily buying the stock since Q3 2020. There is only one reason to do that, they want Bitcoin exposure! The MSTR stock is acting as a de facto Bitcoin ETF right now.
