The Big Recap
The crypto markets have been buzzing this week, although many coins remain below recent highs. A very promising indicator that the markets are getting ready to move higher is that Bitcoin has tested and bounced off of the 50-day moving average. This tends to be a good reversal signal in a bull market. On-chain indicators continue to show strong demand which is outstripping the supply inflows from miners and whales. Every major supply dump is being absorbed by the market with a dramatic increase of coins in the hands of new investors.
Big news this week from both Visa and Paypal. Visa has completed its first USDC transaction on chain via the Ethereum network. They will open up the payment services to partners later this year. Paypal has also enabled payments using Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum, and Bitcoin Cash for US users. Crypto payments are starting to get some serious mainstream adoption!
The CME home to the infamous CME Bitcoin Futures gap is expanding their range of products for Bitcoin with a new “micro Bitcoin” contract offering. Essentially, offering smaller contract sizes for retail investors. Obviously, there is a demand for this since futures trading is one of the most popular things in crypto, and the CME must be feeling the heat from platforms like Binance and Bybit as well as the impending Bitcoin ETF products. Pending review, the product will be launched in May.
Portfolio Management
This week I want to discuss a few important reminders in terms of managing your portfolio. This is one of those topics which isn’t particularly sexy, but in the end is very important for your consistent success. Below are my main tips.
Rebalance: The idea here is simple when one of your bags starts pumping like crazy and as a result taking up a large percentage your total portfolio by percentage then it may be time to consider trimming the position. Let’s say your ideal allocation for coin X is 5 to 10% but it is currently 25% of your portfolio. Well….. consider cutting some of that position. Take profits on it and either add to other positions or more your…
