TL;DR
This month’s Altcoin Review will be focused on Cardano Altcoin Gems that you should probably be keeping a close eye on. With the booming Cardano Ecosystem, it’s time to find out what the best Altcoins really are. We’ll cover the Top 5 Altcoins on Cardano and let you know what’s required to interact with this growing Cardano world. Cardano has been around for a while, but the release of altcoins on Cardano is something fairly new. Liquidity and interest in this new market are expected to increase dramatically over the course of Cardano’s growth. As a Layer 1 protocol, Cardano has the ability to deploy Altcoins on its network and create the same DeFi experience we’ve come to know and love on Ethereum, making your first steps into this new chapter for Cardano easier than you might expect.

For the most part, Cardano hasn’t benefited from the network effects that come with having Altcoins. Sure, we’ve seen Cardano projects release equity on Ethereum. But, it’s been almost two years since the Alonzo upgrade first introduced amart contract functionality and the Cardano Native Token (CNT) with not a lot to show for it.

Cardano is a late bloomer in that sense. Spending much of its time developing the core technology, it’s been a good thing for the right investor. Now there are over 130 projects launched on Cardano and another 1,200+ in the building process, meaning that Cardano is looking to make big strides in the coming years. Still considered virgin territory, we’re still waiting on one of its Altcoins to break the $100 million mark. This makes now one of the best times to consider adding ADA tokens to your portfolio. With demand expected to only go up, ADA plays the most important role in fueling this new market and is a “requirement” for participation.

How Do You Trade Cardano Altcoins?

As with every Layer 1 Network, the first thing you’ll need to get started is a wallet and some native tokens. Cardano’s ADA token is listed on every crypto exchnage, making them super easy to acquire. If you don’t already have an exchange account, we recommend using ByBit. When it comes to Cardano wallets, I’ve broken it down for you into three of the most used and respected ones available. With each wallet catering to specific needs and experience levels. As we go through our list of the Top 5 Cardano Altcoins, I’ll be sure to let you know which wallets are compatible with each product.

  • Nami Wallet – (Browser Wallet Only)
    • Nami is a simple entry-level Cardano Wallet that’s easy for anyone to use. Nami doesn’t offer many of the features you’ll find in other wallets on this list but for most users that could be a good thing. With an easy-to-use user interface, anyone can create a Cardano web wallet with Nami. For those who don’t own a Ledger or Trezor wallet, Nami is perfect for your needs.
  • Eternl Wallet – (Lite Wallet, Browser Wallet, Mobile App)
    • Eternl Wallet offers the most options for users to interact with the Cardano ecosystem. You can choose between their Lite, Browser, or Mobile Wallet to store your Cardano altcoins. For those who wish to use their existing hardware wallet. The Eternl browser wallet offers full compatibility with both Ledger and Trezor devices.
