Before we get started, this is not a recommendation or endorsement to buy MATIC, MaticX, or any other token mentioned.

Crypto markets have been in freefall, while correlated to the shakey macro markets affected by war, global supply chain issues, and epic endings to multi-decade bull cycles in stock fueled by long term inflation. So what’s a crypto degen to do in a market like this?

In times like these, I stick to cryptoassets where I have long term conviction as a store-of-value. One such asset I’ve continually highlighted is ETH. With ETH, I have enhanced my ability to accumulate ETH thanks to staked ETH (stETH) by Lido. Alternatively, other investors might value the native token of similar L1 platforms that they anticipate will host a thriving DeFi/Web3 economy. One of those leading smart contracts platforms beyond Ethereum is Polygon. Polygon is a decentralized EVM-compatible scaling platform that enables developers to build user-friendly dApps with low transaction fees. MATIC is the native token that powers the Polygon PoS (Proof-of-Stake) sidechain consensus for processing transactions. MATIC is also used to pay transaction fees on Polygon, similar to ETH on Ethereum.

Previously, I’ve written about liquid staking protocols like Lido and Stader, which provide convenient ways to maximize returns on staking, without having to run a validator. I can hold stETH by Lido and gain exposure to Ethereum 2.0 staking yield by simply holding a token, without having to lock up 32 ETH in the Beacon Chain. Similarly with Stader, I can mint/swap however many tokens of MATIC for MaticX to hold exposure to MATIC + staking yield currently netting 8.53% APY.

In the following tutorial, I’ll walk through how can maximize MATIC yield by holding
