Is your bark loud and proud?

If the answer is yes, then you might be a good candidate for the SHIBArmy, the global fighting force behind the powerful SHIBU INU token and ecosystem.

In this guide, you’ll find a simple two-step instruction for how to get started with the SHIBA INU token and ecosystem. Specifically, we will explore the following:

  • What is SHIBA INU?
  • Getting Started with SHIBA INU in Two Simple Steps
  • The SHIBA INU Universe: Recommended dApps and Resources

OK, let’s chew on this bone.

What is SHIBA INU

SHIBA INU is a meme coin, named after the Shiba Inu dog. SHIBA INU was launched in August of 2020 by an anonymous creator known only by the pseudonym, “Ryoshi”. SHIBA INU was created in the wake of the meme coin phenomenon brought on by the popularity of Dogecoin.

Technically, SHIBA INU is an ERC-20 token. So, the coin is used only on the Ethereum blockchain, a proof of stake protocol. Thus, SHIBA INU relies on the Ethereum network for its security and efficiency.

Initially, 1 quadrillion SHIB tokens were minted. Ryoshi gave 50% of these (500 trillion) to Vitalik Buterin, the co-founder of Ethereum. Buterin donated 50 trillion SHIB to an Indian-based COVID charity, and then famously burned the rest (450 trillion tokens). Thus, the fixed, circulating supply of SHIB stands at approximately 550 trillion tokens.

Powered by the enthusiasm of the SHIBArmy (name for SHIB’s global fan-base), an ecosystem has since developed around the SHIBA INU token. The main components of this ecosystem include a decentralized exchange, an official NFT collection, a metaverse, a collectible card game, and a layer-two (L2) blockchain network. Each of these are discussed in the final section below.

So, if you’re ready to enlist with the SHIBArmy, follow the steps below.

Get Started with SHIBA INU in Two Simple Steps

This is a simple two-step instruction to get started in the SHIBA INU ecosystem. Please note that if you simply want exposure to the token, SHIB is available on all the major crypto exchanges, including Binance, Coinbase, Kraken, KuCoin, and Bitfinex.

For your convenience, here’s the web-links you’ll need during this process:

Ok, let’s get you doggy paddling.

Step #1: Get a MetaMask Wallet

First, you’ll need a MetaMask wallet to enjoy the full SHIBA INU ecosystem. Go to https://metamask.io to download the wallet. Remember, MetaMask is a non-custodial wallet, so be sure to practice basic security hygiene when using it.

Step #2: Purchase and Deposit some SHIB into your MetaMask Wallet

After you’ve set up your MetaMask, you’ll want to purchase and deposit some SHIB into your wallet.

I recommend using either SHIBASWAP or UNISWAP for this purchase. SHIBASWAP is the official DEX for the SHIBA INU ecosystem. And UNISWAP was the first exchange to offer SHIB for trade. Go to either https://shibaswap.com/#/swap or https://app.uniswap.org/#/swap, connect your wallet, and make your purchase.
